It's almost Spring Equinox!

It's the perfect time to do something nice for yourself.  You can't really go wrong with vintage towel shorts, they're always a whole party.  They're also a fun conversation starter and perfect for lounging. This pair is board short style with cotton side seam pockets and a longer inseam. The waist has a stretchy bamboo drawstring with wooden beads (no elastic). I upcycled this pair from a vintage Ipanema and vintage Royal Terry beach towels, it's such a good mashup.

I would say these shorts would likely best fit someone who traditionally wears up to an XL, depending on how you like the fit  but please note the measurements as my sizing runs larger than fast fashion.  I have included a little paragraph below with instructions for measuring something you already have and love the fit of. The waist measurement is taken when the waist is unstretched and then stretched to its fullest, minus 3" for ease and comfort.

Measurements,

Waist, up to 40"

Rise, 14"

Hips, 48"

Inseam, 8"

I always include full measurements for each garment and people will frequently ask me what the best way to measure themselves is and this is my advice:  I always recommend measuring something similar that you have and love the fit of!  Measuring your body just tells you your actual measurements but it doesn't take into account what level of ease you like in a garment.  I prefer my clothes sit a little loose with lots of ease.  For measuring your garment, lay it flat (if it has an opening, make sure it's fully closed) and measure across armpit to armpit, then from the shoulder to the bottom hem for the length and then the shoulder seam to the wrist for the sleeve length.

For shorts, it's important to know what rise you most prefer (high or lower waisted) and the inseam you most like to wear.  Each pair of shorts varies so it's helpful to have an idea of what makes you happy.

For washing instructions, I generally say the best way to take care of vintage textiles is to wash in cold on delicate and hang or lay flat to dry.  This will keep your garment in tip top shape for many years to come.

Thank you for choosing slow fashion and being part of Mother Nature's Army!
