The little harlequin

I've had a love of vests since I was a little kid. I remember alot of my dad's friends having them and being so envious. For some reason, I always thought vests wouldn't work for my body but that's not true at all! Once I sat to start drafting a pattern, I added darts in one of the test runs and it made all the difference in the world for me! 

This vest was made from the softest wide wale corduroy, it's got a built in bustle also made from corduroy and the prettiest vintage lace in my stash! I did some hand stitching in golden thread for extra whimsy and I pieced together the happy little fellow on the back out of scraps! I gave him some vintage lace and buttons for good measure. I put so much time and love into this creation and I can't wait to see where it gets to adventure next!

This vest would best fit someone who typically wears an XL or larger.

For sizing, I'm 5' 4" and wear a 42DD and this vest fits me with a perfect amount of wiggle room. See measurements below,

Under the bust, 40"

Waist, 42"

length, the front is 22' and the back including the bustle is 28"

Fullest part around the chest, 45"

Machine wash in cold water/ air dry

 I always include full measurements for each garment and people will frequently ask me what the best way to measure themselves is and this is my advice:  I always recommend measuring something similar that you have and love the fit of!  Measuring your body just tells you your actual measurements but it doesn't take into account what level of ease you like in a garment.
